Shape/Size: Once you know your layout, you can finalize the size and shape of your rug. Both of these elements are dependent on the size of the room and how you plan on layering your rug with the furniture. If you’re unsure, start off with common shapes like rectangular, round, and runner rugs. Then, layer them appropriately so that they are to scale with the rest of the room and don’t look too big or too small for that space/compared with that furniture.
