Some designs will feature sharp lines to establish the design while others may use distressed colors or marble effects. Choose a design that isn’t too busy for your space and has similar shapes/lines to your other decor to create a cohesive design. 

Color: Choosing a green abstract area rug definitely narrows your search, but you need to decide what shade of green you want to be the main color. Popular choices include emerald green, sage green, forest green, and so on. Aside from that, think about the other colors in the design.
